We are Savings and Credit Co operative Society (SACCOS) created to build economic powerful to the community through mobilization of savings and empowering people by having a good manner and behavior of savings and loans.
Through this manner WAT SACCOS established to solve a chronic problem of lack of access to financial services facing the majority of Tanzanians and members of WAT SACCOS, rather than to wait for these services to come to us, we opted for a community mutual financial system. It was registered in January 1998 under the Co operative Act of 1991 following current Co operative Act 2013.
WAT SACCOS created by the members themselves and controlled wholly by them, this is according to the Co operative principles.
We started with very few number of members, but now the SACCOS is growing gradual through number of members, loan sizes, loan portfolio and savings. We are implementing the policy of reducing poverty by giving loans to many people and being able to increase their economic activities, hence increase productivity and change their welfare
WAT SACCOS improved also the life standard of its members by providing housing loans for upgrading their houses, purchasing plots, construction of incremental houses and loans for regularization.
Through all these efforts we found that we improved our member’s welfare and hence empowering them economical and build a Co operative movement in the country.
WAT SACCOS is among the best and fast growing SACCOS in Tanzania, and we invite all potential members who have the same vision with us for further development of co operatives and improving living standard of Tanzanian.
